DonorTec Supporting Bush Fire Affected Organisations
In February 2009 a series of extreme bushfires around Victoria caused considerable loss of life and displaced many families. Connecting Up Australia, the wider nonprofit sector and our key donor partners through the DonorTec technology donation program are deeply concerned by these events and their long term impact. As communities rebuild following these tragic events, DonorTec and our partner nonprofit organisation TechSoup Global have formulated a special donations policy for organisations that have either been directly affected by the bushfires or are working directly with fire-affected individuals, families and communities.
We understand that many nonprofit organisations and the communities they serve were affected by the bushfires and we are also aware of new organisations that have been created to help support victims of the disaster. Many of these organisations have had their core ICT infrastructure damaged and hence DonorTec and TechSoup Global have agreed to waive all administration fees for Microsoft and Cisco donated products for these organisations. Existing eligibility guidelines and order restrictions for Microsoft and Cisco will still be in place, but Cisco has agreed to make a special budget allocation of Cisco hardware for fire-affected organisations.
Please note that this policy is only available to organisations directly affected by the Victorian bushfires and remains available until May 2010.
Organisations wishing to take advantage of this policy should register their organisation online at DonorTec www.donortec.com.au and then contact us to advise that your organisation is serving a fire affected region; you will then be contacted by a DonorTec representative. For those already registered with DonorTec, please contact us so that we can assist you with any additional needs you may have.
Kind Regards
DonorTec
