Refer a Friend Competition
Have you ever been to a great restaurant and had such a pleasant experience that you recommended it to your friends? Well we are asking you to simply refer DonorTec to a friend or another non-profit organisation. We have received a number of referrals so far but there is still plenty of time for someone from your organisation to win a return flight for 1, plus 2 night’s accommodation, at this year’s Connecting Up Conference held at the Novotel Brighton in Sydney 11 – 13 May 2009.

Want to know more about Web 2.0 and Social Networking?

Perhaps you are wondering if you need a Web 2.0 strategy and how to get one.

This year’s Connecting Up Conference will give you a wealth of information about social web tools and applications and how and why you could use them to enable communities.
The Connecting Up conference and Australian Community ICT Awards enable us to get together to share, learn, celebrate and drive further the development of the community sector.
This conference is for forward thinking Board Members, CEO’s, Marketing Managers and other staff who want to learn enough about ICT to be dangerous!

DonorTec and Donor Partners Helping Restore Communities, One Donation at a Time

DonorTec is pleased to announce we are back on board for another exciting year serving you, our fellow non-profits. As DonorTec embarks on its third year of operation, we are realising the enormity of the benefits our donor partners are providing the non-profit community. In less than two years DonorTec has facilitated donations worth in excess of $33 million to the non-profit community. This means that in less than two years charitable organisations across Australia have been able to inject $33 million of funding directly to the communities they serve. The good news is  we anticipate this trend to only continue into the new year and beyond.

We have seen the introduction of 3 new donor partners in 2008 - Flickr, Bytes of Learning and Sentry Networks – and they have all provided great value-add propositions to the program and have helped to further increase our sustainability. Looking ahead to 2009 we will again be welcoming more donor partners to the program, offering a wide array of products and services to the non-profit community. Make sure you keep an eye out as we introduce these donors over the coming  months.

Facebook For Your Non-profit

Facebook can be a critical tool for non-profit organising, because it is a great way to connect with other organisations and supporters who might not have known about your organisation previously.

It makes sense to create a presence on one of the top five Web sites on the Internet where people are already regularly visiting, rather than expecting users to find you. If your non-profit has video content, podcasts, interviews, or documents just languishing on your desktop, creating a presence on Facebook provides an easy way to upload these types of media, without spending the time or resources required for updating your own website.

It can allow organisations to plug into an existing audience of organisations that have opted into similar interest groups. It can also help organisations collaborate, connect easily, and increase their network of volunteer and supporters.
