Australia’s Disability Employment Network Conference 2009

30 September – 2 October 2009
Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre

ACE Conference 2009

The ACE Conference is an important annual event for disability employment professionals. As part of its ongoing commitment to industry development and growth, ACE aims to provide delegates with opportunities to think, question and respond to a range of critical industry issues in ways that are meaningful to their organisation, jobseekers with disability and the industry more broadly.

With over 500 delegates in attendance last year, the ACE conference is a must for anyone with an interest in employment assistance for people with disability.

Change management, maintaining stability in turbulent times and staying focused on the ‘end game’ will all feature in this year’s program, along with an exploration of how best to strengthen sector advocacy efforts. How is change best effected for jobseekers with disabilities and the services that support them in what continues to be a highly dynamic and challenging policy context?
ACE will also be showcasing a series of short films from The Other Film Festival. Expect to be moved, surprised and entertained by contemporary international cinema concerned with the experience of disability. All films will be captioned (or subtitled) and audio described.

Plan ahead before placing your Microsoft order

Since the beginning of 2007 thousands of nonprofit organisations have benefitted from receiving technology donations and discounts via DonorTec to valued at over $50 million. For this we must thank our partners for their amazing and continuing contributions to the sector.

However there is a small percentage of organisations out there who are not maximising their order potential. For this reason and because Microsoft products have been our most frequently requested to date, we have compiled a checklist of things to look at before you place your next Microsoft order. Although this checklist applies to those qualified to receive Microsoft products

To ensure you get the most out of Microsoft’s donation program it is good to plan ahead and thoroughly by taking an inventory of your organisation's current and future technology needs. If you plan now then later on, you won't find yourself stuck without the software you need to do your work. Since you have to wait 12 months after your first Microsoft donation request before you can place a second request, it pays to think about everything your organisation will need over the coming year.

Make sure you have a look at the checklist below even if you are not looking to place your Microsoft order in the immediate future as it could save you a lot of time and resourcing in the future.

Your Questions Answered

Q1. I have received my Microsoft media disks but no volume licence keys. How do I obtain them?

You can request your Microsoft Licence Confirmation Email yourself by following the instructions below:

  1. Please login to your DonorTec account at http://www.donortec.com.au
  2. Once logged in click on “My Account” via the user  menu which is located on the right hand side of the screen
  3. Click on the icon that says  “View Order History”  This will open your order history to list all previous transactions
  4. Click on the  “View” link located under “Order Status” under the relevant transaction
  5. Scroll down until you see the option to resend the license email copy by email. Alternatively you can view your license details on the same page.

Q2. Why have I received notification from Microsoft that my licenses are about to expire?

Your organisation's donated Microsoft licenses received via DonorTec are wholly owned by your organisation. It is only your software assurance that may be due to expire after 2 years – not your licenses. This means that you will simply not be able to downgrade or upgrade the software you have received via software assurance.

The products you have ordered and received via DonorTec are licensed perpetually in that they remain licensed for as long as the machine on which they are installed is operational. If you wish to renew your software assurance you may do this by requesting additional licenses/seats via DonorTec. You do not have to renew your software assurance if you do not want to access software assurance benefits.

Also worth noting is that after 2 years from your initial order, your account is reset so that you may again order up to 6 titles and 50 licenses per title over the ensuing 2 year period.

For information on how you can utilise your software assurance before it expires, make sure you take full advantage of your Software Assurance benefits
