DonorTec Impact | Kurbingui Youth Association
The following extracts have been taken from a letter we received from Sue Perel from Kurbingui Youth Development Association expressing her appreciation for the DonorTec program and the X-box which her organisation won in a previous DonorTec competition.
When the software arrived it truly was like Christmas unwrapping all that stuff. We tried to think ahead to encompass our needs for the coming year at least, and the saving is immeasurable. This has meant that we can plan ahead for developing programs and know that we have the resources on hand instead of waiting for a funding opportunity."
Microsoft Office 2010: Our favourite (new) features
The latest version of Microsoft Office
came out last month and since then we've been fiddling, playing,
testing, and tweaking to learn all we can about the 2010 version of the
popular office productivity suite. For many organizations, it's the
standard-bearer software that lives on nearly every computer and is used
daily by millions, so we think it's pretty important to have a good
handle on how to answer the seminal question asked by resource-strapped nonprofits — "Should we bother upgrading?"
Microsoft Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, and the Cloud
Microsoft's new version of Office 2010 is interesting in several ways, especially in its approach to green IT and cloud computing.
In addition to the free, ad-supported version of Office Web Apps on Windows Live, there is also a version of Microsoft Office Web Apps for Organisations, which allows organisations to set up their own intranet using their own server.
DonorTec Impact | Seniors have Access to safe and confident living
Rosebud Police Senior Citizens Register Incorporated (RPSCRI) promotes safe and confident living to thousands of senior
residents of the Mornington Peninsula.
Some of the many important functions RPSCRI performs include making elderly people feel safer, minimising the fear of crime amongst the elderly and increasing the awareness of elderly people to their own safety and security.
“The people who work on our register and computers are most grateful to Microsoft for making this software available to us," says Marie. “Thank you DonorTec for making this possible - every bit of help we can get is just terrific.”

The maximum administration fee per order has been lifted from Au$1,200 to Au$2,200

DonorTec Impact | Women of Bega, doing ‘IT’ for themselves
The Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) is a valuable organisation that
provides free resources, information and referrals to women on a range
of issues.
Being able to upgrade for free to the latest Microsoft offerings available is of great assistance to those who are studying, running a small business or just simply wanting to learn more about computers.
In fact Microsoft has played a major role in a ‘very small organisation’ development to offer assistance to all women living in the Bega Valley region – which extends to a staggering 33,000 square kilometres.

DonorTec Impact | DADS get the tools to build a better life
Graham Mayer, Executive Director of D.A.D.S. says, “We currently have no
funding whatsoever, we just can't afford the Microsoft software
required to provide for our members. Having Microsoft donate their
software through DonorTec means we can share information easily with our
members and keep one another informed.”Putting the spotlight on nonprofit engine rooms - the FABO awards launch
Spotlight on non-profit engine rooms:
FABO Awards Launch
When we come to acknowledge the contribution of Australia’s non-profit organisations in our society, we can too easily forget about the people that work behind the scenes to make these organisations as good as they are.
In order to publicly appreciate the amazing people who work in the back offices, Matrix on Board* has initiated the Finance, Administration and Back Offices (FABO) awards.
“We work with back
office people in not for profit organisations across the country and we
know
that they are the backbone; without them, the work of so many
organisations
would grind to a halt.
Microsoft orders being accepted
Our Microsoft catalogue has been updated with 2010 versions of many existing products and DonorTec administration fees for Microsoft products have also been revised.
The following products remain temporarily out of stock and will be reintroduced to our catalogue shortly:
