Microsoft Groove Server 2010 (Includes Software Assurance and 1 Processor License)

Groove Server 2010 provides centralized management, data relay, and data integration services for Groove workspaces created with SharePoint Workspace 2010 or Groove 2007.

Groove Server is a set of two server software applications:

• Groove Server Manager provides a web-based interface for accessing all related management and administration activities, including directory integration, security policies and public key infrastructure (PKI) integration, user identity management, component management, data recovery, reporting, and auditing.
• Groove Server Relay provides data relay services to transmit data between Groove workspaces when they cannot connect directly. Groove Server Relay's store-and-forward service facilitates data transmission when recipient clients are offline or behind a firewall and when transmitting clients transmit a large amount of data or have a slow connection.

The 2010 version of Groove Server integrates SharePoint Workspace user management with Active Directory, automates SharePoint Workspace account configuration, distributes usage policies to SharePoint Workspace users, enhances support for global SharePoint Workspace communications, and supports secure SharePoint Workspace management. It does not include the Groove Data Bridge application that was included in Groove Server 2007.

SharePoint Workspace 2010 or Groove 2007 software is required to access Groove Server 2010.

This product includes a server license. No client licenses are required for Groove Server.

Acquiring the Installation Media: Installing this product requires installation media and a license key. Installation media will be shipped to you free of charge.

Software Assurance: Under the Software Assurance program, you have the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
