Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server is a customer relationship management server application designed to run on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 supports multiple, distinct customer relationship management databases on a single server and has no user limit.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Workgroup Server 2011

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Workgroup Server 2011 includes licences for a maximum of five users to access the server from any number of computers or other devices. Note Microsoft Dynamics CRM Workgroup Server 2011 has a five CAL limit, therefore additional users cannot be added.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Client Access Licences (CALs) provide one user or device full read/write access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Device CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Device CAL provides a computer or other device full read/write access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of the number of users accessing the server from the device.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM User CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM User CAL provides a user full read/write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of how many devices they access the server from.

 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited CALs

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Client Access Licences (CALs) provide one user or device read only access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server. This means a user or device can access customer relationship management information but aren't able to make any edits or updates to it.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Device CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Device CAL provides a computer or other device read only access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of the number of users accessing the server from the device.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited User CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited User CAL provides a user read only access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of how many devices they access the server from.

 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive CALs

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive Client Access Licences (CAL) allow a user or device write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. A Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive CAL may only be used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited CAL. When a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive CAL and a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited CAL are used together, then the user or device has full read/write access to the server.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive Device CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive Device CALs allow a computer or other device write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, regardless of the number of users accessing the server from the device, thus allowing the device full read/write access to the server when used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Device CAL.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive User CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Full Use Additive User CALs allow a user write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, regardless of how many devices they access the server from. When used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited User CAL, the user will have full read/write access to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.

 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service CALs

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service Client Access Licences (CALs) provide one user or device with limited API access and limited read/write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server.

Permissions include:

  • Read only access to Accounts, Contacts, Cases, Leads, Activities and Custom entity records
  • Data priviledges to create Accounts, Contacts, Cases, Leads, Activities and Custom entity records
  • Permission to append and update records created by other Microsoft Dynamics CRM users
  • Access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server software and functionality through any application or graphical user interface other than the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client

Permissions do not include data priviledges to assign, share or delete records.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service Device CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service Device CAL provides a computer or other device with limited API access and limited read/write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of the number of users accessing the server from the device.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service User CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service User CAL provides a user with limited API access and limited read/write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server, regardless of how many devices they access the server from.

 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive CALs

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive Client Access Licences (CALs), when used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service CAL, allow a user or device full read access and limited write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server.

You can only use a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive CAL in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service CAL.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive Device CAL

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive Device CALs allow a computer or other device full read access and limited write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive Device CALs may only be used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service Device CAL.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive User CALs allow a user full read access and limited write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Limited Use Additive User CALs may only be used in conjunction with a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Employee Self Service User CAL.

 

Microsoft Dynamics CRM External Connector Licence

If you want external users, such as external contractors or clients, to be able to access Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Dynamics CRM External Connector Licences are available, and in some case prove a more economical option than requesting CALs for each external user. A Microsoft Dynamics CRM External Connector Licence provide external users full read/write access to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server. Microsoft Dynamics CRM External Connector Licences are not compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Workgroup Server 2011.
