Microsoft Donation Program Misconceptions

We have received thousands of donation requests for Microsoft products since the beginning of 2007 when DonorTec commenced operations. In this time our members have learnt a lot about ordering guidelines and for many of our repeat clients the ordering process is now very smooth.

However there are still some commonly held misconceptions about Microsoft that we would like to rectify. Please read below to ensure your organisation does not make a mistake that could cost you time and money

• If I order 1 of each of each product, I can install this on as many machines as I like.
o In fact you must order as many licenses as you require machines to be licensed

• I will receive the same number of media kits as the number of licenses that I have ordered.
o You will only ever receive 1 set of media disks for each title you order. It is your volume licence keys that you may use multiple times with your 1 set media disks.

• I can place my own orders online as a multiple branch qualified organisation
o You must submit all donation requests via an order template if you have registered more than one branch using the same ABN. For more information please click here

• DonorTec keeps a list of the licence keys I have used so far
o DonorTec keeps no records of the licence keys you have used as all licensing is handled by Microsoft's eOpen website. For all volume licence key queries we suggest you contact the Microosft Activation Centre on 1800 642 008 and choose option 4. You will need to be ready to quote your licence and authorisation numbers from your Open Licence Confirmation email.
