DonorTec Impact | Asthma SA is breathing easy with up-to-date security software

Breathing is something most of us take for granted. But for about two million people living in Australia struggling for breath is a real issue. In SA alone, asthma is the second most common reason for admission to a hospital. Thanks to organisations like the Asthma Foundation of SA our community has somewhere to turn for help.

The Asthma Community Support Program helps people learn more about the safe management of asthma and related chronic respiratory conditions in the community. This free program is conducted on site and includes visits to schools, workplaces and sporting organisations.

Through the DonorTec program the Asthma Foundation of SA was provided with Sophos security software. This enables the Asthma Foundation's community training program’s to visit schools and workplaces without the threat of picking up potential viruses.  The security software detects viruses or any potential problems for the organisations individual computers and laptops.

The Asthma Foundation of SA has a large database containing vital and important information. The software ensures that all information is secure and is never used inappropriately. It also ensures that the server is secure and that its use is restricted to authorized users only.

Mathew Green from the Asthma Foundation of SA says “Funding for the community based programs and training come mostly from donations. We can obviously do a lot more for the community by saving money spent on software. You’d be crazy not to go to DonorTec. You can pay a lot more for less service and the same product. It saves us time and money.

We are very happy and thankful there is such a program out there. We have recommended the program to other not for profit organisations and we will definitely be using the program again.

DonorTec and their partners really are having an impact on the community”
