What are the Cisco donation program eligible category types?

A range of direct-service nonprofit organisations that primarily serve economically disadvantaged people are eligible to receive Cisco donations. To qualify your organisation's primary mission and services will correspond to one of the organisational types listed below:

IMPORTANT The eligible categories listed below are to be used as a guide only. All registered organisations must meet all specific donor criteria that may not be listed on this page. Please note that eligibility criteria are evaluated and may be modified on a quarterly and annual basis.

Community Activities

  • Area development, redevelopment or renewal
  • Other activity aimed to combating community deterioration
  • Community service organisation
  • Non-financial services of facilities to other organisations
  • Emergency or disaster aid fund

Counselling and Referral Services

  • Job training, vocational counselling, or assistance
  • Rehabilitating offenders or ex-offenders
  • Supplying money, goods or services to the poor
  • Alcohol, drug, and problem gambling services

Health service support organisations offering any of these types of services:

  • Hospital auxiliary
  • Health clinic (not government agencies)
  • Rural medical facility
  • Blood bank
  • Cooperative hospital service organisation
  • Aid to persons with disabilities
  • Community health planning
  • Mental health care (not government agencies)

Housing services:

  • Low-income housing
  • Low and moderate income housing
  • Instruction and guidance on housing
  • Home improvement or repairs
  • Other housing activities

Organisations providing education, job training, and literacy support to economically disadvantaged populations through any of the following program types:

  • Apprentice training
  • Employment preparation and procurement
  • Other instruction and training

Organisations proving these types of services to economically disadvantaged youths

  • Care and housing of children (orphanages, etc)
  • Prevention of Child Abuse
  • Combat juvenile offending
  • YMCA & YWCA's
  • Youth Development Programs
  • Youth Development – Business
  • Youth Development – Citizenship
  • Other youth organisation or activities

Organisations that provide emergency or disaster aid:

  • Aid to people in the event of a disaster
  • Controlling the effects of a disaster
  • Educating or preparing individuals before disasters occur

We also encourage organisations that provide basic needs of food, shelter, and health care to seek Cisco donations.
