Cisco Router for ADSL over ISDN and Wireless Applications

The CISCO876W-G-E-K9 is one of the 870 Series of integrated services routers. These fixed-configuration routers can be used to establish secure virtual private network (VPN) connections from small remote offices and teleworkers to larger enterprise networks.

The four-port 10/100-Mbps managed switch provides connections for multiple devices and has the ability to designate a port as the network DMZ ("demilitarized zone"). Virtual LAN (VLAN) support allows computers to be moved to another location without reconfiguration.

The Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) Web-based configuration tool simplifies setup and deployment. Its centralised management capabilities give network managers visibility and control of the network configurations at the remote site.

The CISCO876W-G-E-K9 model is useful when connected to the Internet via ADSL over ISDN. It also supports up to twenty 802.11g wireless clients. It also has an integrated ISDN basic rate interface (BRI) S/T port for a backup ISDN line.
