Symantec Endpoint Protection (with 75-User License)
Description:
Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 protects networked laptops, desktops, and servers ("endpoints") against viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, adware, rootkits, and threats not seen before ("zero-day attacks"). It consists of client software that runs on the endpoints and management software that runs on a server.
Symantec Endpoint Protection combines technologies from previous Symantec products in a new interface:
- Antivirus and Antispyware: scans for both viruses and security risks
- Personal Firewall: prevents unauthorised users from accessing the computers and the networks that connect to the Internet
- Intrusion Prevention: acts as the client's second layer of defense after the firewall
- Proactive Threat Scanning: analyzes the behavior of an application or process to determine if it exhibits characteristics of threats
- Device Control: blocks or allows access from devices, such as USB, infrared, FireWire, SCSI, serial ports, and parallel ports
- Application Control: blocks or allows applications that try to access system resources
The management software uses a single console to manage all the endpoints in an organisation. Software and policy updates can be sent to all the organisation's computers and servers, and their activities and statuses can be monitored centrally. Reports are available in Web-based graphical form.
Rather than having several "agents" installed for the various functions, Endpoint Protection uses a single agent for all of them and thereby uses less memory and disk space on each endpoint.
Note: Although Symantec does not provide telephone technical support for donated products, it does offer free online technical support on its award-winning Web site.
Choose Carefully: The administrative fee for this downloaded product is not refundable.
Installation File and Licence: When your donation request has been approved, DonorTec will send an email to your organisation email address containing download instructions. Symantec will send a second email within 7 to 10 days with a certificate valid for a user licence and the serial number needed for downloading. Symantec estimates download times will range from about 4 hours for T1 connections to 47 1/2 hours for 128-Kbps connections

- Proactive Threat Scan uses a technology unique to Symantec to score both good and bad behaviors of unknown applications, enhancing detection and reducing false positives without the need to create rule-based configurations.
- Administrators can control access to specific processes, files, and folders by both users and applications.
- Symantec Endpoint Protection works with other leading antivirus products, firewalls, IPS technologies, and network-access-control infrastructures. It also works with leading software-deployment tools, patch-management tools, and security-information-management tools.

Symantec Endpoint Protection (with 10-User License)

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.2 (with 50-User License)
Description:
Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition provides users with the automatic defense and response mechanisms needed to protect their organisations from harmful viruses, worms, spyware, and adware. Scalable centralised management and response capabilities maximise uptime and minimise the cost of ownership in the enterprise, providing organisations with comprehensive control and protection for network servers and desktops, including those with Windows Vista operating systems.
Symantec AntiVirus clients can be installed as either unmanaged or managed. In an unmanaged Symantec AntiVirus network, each computer is administered individually. In a managed environment, one or more AntiVirus servers are used to administer the AntiVirus system. Each client and server on the network can be monitored, configured, and updated from a single computer running the Symantec System Center. The network can also have servers configured to run reporting, quarantine, and LiveUpdate functions.
Network auditing functionality identifies whether workstations and servers have antivirus software installed. Logical group management tools enable users to create like groups of workstations and servers so they can apply policy settings quickly and easily and manage multiple functional groups from a single parent server.
Quarantine tools available include Quarantine Server and Quarantine Console, which enable the redirection of virus-infected files to a safe area for inspection, and the testing of virus fixes received from Symantec Security Response. Side-effect repair keeps systems operational during security disruptions. Live Update keeps virus and threat information current with regularly scheduled downloads and special virus outbreak responses.
Symantec recommends installing either Symantec AntiVirus server or Symantec AntiVirus client on every computer in the network. See the system requirements below for the types of computers (and operating systems) that can be used for the various AntiVirus roles.

- Although Symantec does not provide telephone technical support for donated products, free online technical support is available at their award-winning Web site.
